Floyd Richard “Rick” Ormeroid, age 70, of Milford Center, died Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at his home with his loving family by his side. Despite a year-long diagnosis with cancer, he was determined to maintain his home and business throughout his health complications. A lifelong welder by trade, he retired from the maintenance department with O.M. Scott and Sons after 18 years. During his retirement, he fulfilled his dream by starting his own business, “Rick’s Weld and Fab.” A 1966 graduate of Marysville High School, he was known for his creativity, problem-solving, volunteerism and generosity through his trade work. A veteran of the United States Army, he served in Vietnam. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed owning classic cars and Harley Davidsons. Most importantly, he was a devoted husband, father, brother and son. He was born February 9, 1948 in Bellefontaine, Ohio to the late Floyd Richard and Edna Miller Ormeroid, Sr. He was also preceded in death by a brother, David Ormeroid and a brother-in-law, Terry Kuhn. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Karen Lynne Kuhn Ormeroid, whom he married June 3, 1969 in Marysville; his son, Jeremy (Heidi) Ormeroid of Marysville; a sister-in-law, Sharon Ormeroid of Marysville; his brothers-and sisters-in-law, Martha Clinton, Billy (Mary) Kuhn, Freddy (Ruth) Kuhn, Richard (Judy) Kuhn, Michael (Norma) Kuhn and Charles (Patience) Kuhn; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, May 7, 2018 at Underwood Funeral Home where the family will receive friends beginning at 11 a.m. Pastor Willis Moe will officiate and burial will be at Union Township Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Union County Military Funeral Honor Guard.
