Faye Higgins, age 73, of Marion, died peacefully at home, Thursday, December 19, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 8, 1946 in Sterrett, West Virginia to the late Burl and Margaret Whitted Stapleton. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, she devoted her life to her family and to her Lord. She was a member of Heartland Gospel Singers, a small family ensemble of vocalists who sang for decades at nursing homes, churches and gathering events. She was a member of White Oaks Church in Marion. She will be lovingly remembered for her giving heart and joyful spirit. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Velma Stuart and Patty Blankenship; and a grandson, Tyson Richardson. She is survived by her husband of ten years, Curt Higgins, whom she married December 5, 2009; her children, Jeanie Gilkerson (Dan) McCullough, Kristy Gilkerson (Robert) Ervin, Brian (Danielle) Gilkerson, Lily Higgins (Darrell) Clark and Amy Higgins (Chris) Gittinger; her grandchildren, Danny McCullough, Megan McCullough (David) DeChambeau, Drew McCullough, Zachary Clark, Garrett Clark, Ridge Richardson, Kodi Hawkins-Gilkerson, Cristian Gilkerson, Cory Gilkerson and Justin Gilkerson; a great-granddaughter, Annabelle DeChambeau; a great-grandson, Theodore DeChambeau; two sisters, Jackie Mills and Shirley Bocook; and many other relatives. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Marysville Free Will Baptist Church where friends may call beginning at 9 a.m. Interment will be at Price Cemetery in LaRue.
