Evan Michael Taylor, age 28, of West Jefferson, entered into the Kingdom of God on Friday, June 18, 2021 at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, surrounded by his loving parents. He is finally running through fields of wildflowers, marveling at their colors. He can see the ocean and run through the surf. He call tell stories and draw and eat ice cream like a true Taylor.
He was welcomed into the Kingdom by his grandparents, William B. Taylor and James F. “Ticka-ticka-da” and Ellen M. Evans; and his God family, Lind, Pam, Bobby and Eric Krenzke.
He has left behind a grieving family who long to be reunited with him in Heaven. He is survived by his parents, Terry and Susie Evans Taylor of West Jefferson; his paternal grandmother, Novella Ruth Taylor of Richwood; his brothers, Philip (Isabella Ensinger) Taylor and Derek Taylor, both of West Jefferson; his longtime home nurse, Shana Smith of London; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends around the world.
Evan entered this world too soon on November 3, 1992 and brought joy and meaning to the life of hundreds of medical, educational and other professionals, in addition to his family and friends. His words were few, but his impact was immense. His passing has left a huge hole in our lives. That whole will be filled by 28 years of memories and life lessons.
Special thanks to Garey Noritz, M.D. and the team at the Complex Healthcare and Comprehensive Cerebral Palsy Clinics at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus; the entire NCH team in the pediatric intensive care unit; surgeon Marc Michalsky, M.D.; neurology nurse practitioner Mary Karn; and neurosurgery nurse practitioner Renee Carpenter Wells; the team at the Madison County Board of Developmental Disabilities in London, especially Leigh Spohler; our church family at Zion Lutheran Church in West Jefferson; the educators at the Ohio State School for the Blind; and all who have entered our lives to support Evan as he grew up.
The family will receive friends 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Underwood Funeral Home and one-hour prior to the funeral service which will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 25, 2021.
