Ernest E. “Bud” Wilson, age 75, of Marysville, died Friday, September 27, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family following an extended illness. A longtime associate of O. M. Scott and Sons, he retired as a maintenance associate after almost 35 years and was a member of the Scotts 20-Year Club. For most of his life, he also was a heavy equipment operator and worked many years for Pete Looney Excavating in Delaware, Ohio. He was also known as a skilled auto mechanic. A graduate of Symmes Valley High School, he grew up in Lawrence County, Ohio. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed deer, coon and rabbit hunting and loved being among nature with his family. Despite suffering from a stroke in 2016, he kept up a good fight and high-spirited attitude. A member of Living Waters Church of God, he gave his heart to the Lord on March 16, 2018. He was born March 31, 1944 in Lawrence County, Ohio to the late Ernie Everett and Thelma Callicoat Wilson. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Rick Wilson and Gary Wilson; his sisters-and brothers-in-law, Glendon “Bud” Cade, Belford “Bill” Cade, Frieda and Clyde Matthews, David Hackworth and Debbie Russell. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Kathleen Cade Wilson, whom he married January 31, 1965 at his bride’s family home in Lawrence County; two sons, Bryan Wilson of West Mansfield, Scott (Lori) Wilson of Belle Center; his daughter, Cheryl Wilson of Marysville; five grandchildren, Michael (Megan) Wilson, Haley (Derek McNutt) Wilson, Trey Wilson, Keegan Wilson and Braeden Wilson; three great-grandchildren, Conner, Rhemingten and Kaitlynn; his siblings, Randall (Jeannie) Wilson, Shirley (Eddie) Hardy, Carol Blair and Kathy (Robin) Fout; his brothers-and sisters-in-law, Grace Wilson, Robin Wilson, Kay Cade, Shelby Cade, Betty (Trubby) May, Maxine (John) Haskins, Ron (Betty) Cade, Delores Hackworth, George (Brenda) Cade, Kathy (Keith) Bevins, Robert Russell and Dwayne (Teresa) Cade; and numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at Underwood Funeral Home where the family will receive friends beginning at 3 p.m. Pastor Mike Roehrenbeck will officiate. Pallbearers will be Michael Wilson, Trey Wilson, Keegan Wilson, Braeden Wilson, Derek McNutt and Randall Wilson. Burial service will be held at 12 noon Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Watkins Cemetery, Millcreek Township. Memorial contributions may be made to Living Waters Church of God.
