Elizabeth T. Bourgeois

Elizabeth “Betty” T. Loeffler Bourgeois, age 83, of Marysville, formerly of Columbus, died Monday, January 25, 2021 at Riverside Methodist Hospital.  She was a retired associate of The Kroger Company for over 35 years, where she worked mostly at the Worthington Square Kroger’s store. A 1955 graduate of Bellaire High School in Bellaire, Ohio, she was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Marysville and a former member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Columbus.  She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and board games.  She liked making afghans for her family members and knitted newborn beanie caps which she donated to local hospitals. An avid Ohio State Buckeyes and Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Betty will be remembered for her feisty personality, strong work ethic and love for her children, grandchildren and great-grandkids.  She was born December 19, 1937 in Wheeling, West Virginia to the late Cecil and Angela Mlak Loeffler.  She was also preceded in death by her son, David Myers; her grandson, Joshua Noland; her sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Pete Orlando; and a brother-in-law, James P. West. She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline (Scott) Noland of Marysville; her son, James Bourgeois, III, of Columbus; her grandchildren, Crystal (Johnnie) Kise, Zach Noland, Austin Noland and Jesse Bourgeois; her great-grandchildren, Chloe, Owen and Payton; a sister, Mikki West; and nieces, nephews and other relatives. The family will receive friends 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 29, 2021 at Underwood Funeral Home.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.  Graveside services will follow the mass at 1:30 p.m. at Blendon Central Cemetery in Westerville. The Rev. Fr. Kevin J. Kavanagh will officiate.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.underwoodfuneralhome.com.
