Elizabeth Lea “Liz” Eberly Richardson, age 90, of East Liberty, died Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Memorial Gables. A former associate of Red Roof Inn Corporate Office in Hilliard, she was a former admitting clerk at Memorial Hospital of Union County. Liz attended Goshen Evangelical Friends Church in Zanesfield and was a former member of Shiloh Chapel Evangelical Friends Church. She volunteered at Memorial Hospital and at the Charles B. Mills Center. She also volunteered at the Arbors Nursing Home in Hilliard. A 1947 graduate of Central High School where she was named homecoming queen, Liz enjoyed cooking, baking, homemaking, camping and yardwork. She was born August 26, 1929 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Gottfried Herman and Lea Loosli Eichenberger. She was also preceded in death in 1999 by a stepdaughter, Theresa Richardson; and in 1996 by her former husband, Robert P. Eberly. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Donald L. Richardson, whom she married July 27, 1984; her children, Rebecca “Becky” Eberly of Dover, Bruce (Kim) Eberly of Marysville and Bonnie (Allen) Thomas of Mt. Gilead; her step-children, Kathie Richardson of New Castle, Pennsylvania and Patrick Richardson of Marysville; her sister Shirley (Norman) Weaver of Hudson, Florida; her grandchildren, Paul (Olivia) Eberly, John (Heather) Bowshier, Stephanie (Jon) Gray, Shannon (Josh) Smith, Angie (Mike) Adkins, Chad (Veronica) Eberly; her step-grandchildren, Jason (Heather) Kauffman, Ryan (Julie) Kauffman, Shane Richardson, Shawna (Sean) Brisson, Jeremiah (Angie) Thomas, Angelique (Steve) Kimberling, Brooks (Tracy) Thomas and Jordan Thomas; her great-grandchildren, Caleb, Caitlynn, Carter, Madisyn, Morgan, Sydney, Ethan, Chase, Brennan, Silas, Simone, Lincoln, Stella and Harvey; her step-great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Jordan, Justin, Jacob, Charlotte, Elise, Brendon, Quinten, Mitchell and Malachi; step-great-great-grandchildren, Jemma and Jaxon; two brothers-in-law, Lee Richardson and Jay Richardson, Jr.; three nephews Chris, Scott and Chad Weaver; and many other relatives. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, October 7, 2019 at Underwood Funeral Home where the family will receive friends beginning at 11 a.m. Her son-in-law, Pastor Allen Thomas will officiate. Private interment will be held at Dublin Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Central Ohio Alzheimer’s Association or Viaquest Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
