Earl Craig Case, age 63, of Richwood and Marysville, died unexpectedly Friday, November 23, 2018 in the emergency room at Memorial Hospital in Marysville. A 1973 graduate of Marysville High School, he retired in 2011 from The Kroger Company in Marysville where he served as produce manager for almost 40 years. He took pride in providing the utmost service to grocery customers. He was known for his ability to assist the store in maintaining equipment and always helped store personnel and shoppers with a smile. He was owner of the former Case’s Sewing Center in uptown Marysville and continued to offer parts and repair sewing machines for many years. Since the age of 14, he enjoyed scuba diving and was a professional licensed scuba instructor opening a dive shop in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico at the age of 17, then as a manager at the Central Ohio School of Diving. His diving destinations included waters all over the world- The Galapagos Islands, Egypt, Roatan, Fiji, Bonaire, West Palm Beach, Florida and many others. An avid photographer, Earl had a great talent for photography that he fostered beginning with Camera Club at MHS. He loved recording thousands upon thousands of memories through his lenses and will be remembered as a creative and genius photographer. His desire was to capture images for the pure lasting joy of those who could cherish them. His “first love” though was his family. Earl was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother and was passionate about attending family events and activities throughout the years. He was a man of devotion to his friends, love for his family and passion for life. He was born August 9, 1955 in Delaware, Ohio to the late Donald and Alma Daniels Case. He was also preceded in death by his son, Jeffery Case; his siblings, Carol Case; and two brothers, Daniel and Jerry Case. He is survived by his wife, Pam Denney Case, whom he married December 12, 2011; his daughter, Jennifer (Brian) Wing of Marysville; three grandchildren, Emma, Owen and Liam Wing; his brother, Tim Case of Marysville; his sisters-and brother-in-law, Joann Denney, Karen Denney, Juanita Denney and Edward (Teresa) Denney, all of Marion; and nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends, including his scuba business partner, Joey Jacques. In celebrating his life and love of the sun and surf, the family will hold visitation/viewing hours from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Underwood Funeral Home. Following cremation and a private service, the family will release his ashes to the ocean at a later date. In tribute in his belief in organ and tissue donation, memorial contributions may be made to Lifeline of Ohio. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
