Duane Rae Rounds

Duane Rae Rounds, age 96, of Plant City, Florida, passed away peacefully, Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Grace Manor at Hunters Creek Senior Living in Plant City. She was a former associate of the Union County Board of Elections. While growing up in Nebraska, Duane helped with the family farm. Moving to Ohio with her late husband, Rex, she had the privilege of being a stay-at-home mom and the “neighborhood mom.” Duane enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling and her sports. She followed THE Ohio State Buckeyes, Browns, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tampa Bay Rays and a variety of other sports. Duane loved going to local lakes and feeding the ducks and geese. She also enjoyed playing Bingo with her friends and a trip or two to the casino. She was born August 7, 1925 in Dunbar, Nebraska to the late Ray and Flava Wright. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Rex Rounds, whom she married June 7, 1947 in Shenadoah, Iowa; her daughter, Linda Dorsey; a daughter-in-law, Sandy Rounds; one sister and two brothers. She is survived by her children, Kirk (Janice) Rounds of Marysville, OH, Gregg Rounds of Estes Park, CO and Anita (Jim) Nyers of Seffner, FL; a son-in-law, Ed Dorsey of Jacksonville, FL; her grandchildren, David (Gia) Dorsey of Buffalo, NY, Brian Dorsey of Deltona, FL, Kelly (Ron) McCoy of Marysville, Jackie Johnson of Marysville, Kathleen (Joey) Shreve of Marysville, Casey (Chris) Glatfelter of Windsor, CO, Christopher Nyers of Tampa, FL and Jessica Ward of Jacksonville, FL; 12 great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; her brother, Jim Wright of Lincoln, NE; and several nephews and nieces. She will be sadly missed by all. Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Underwood Funeral Home where the family will receive friends beginning at 4:30 p.m. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Oakdale Cemetery.
