Doris Marie Ward Anderson, age 82, of Marysville, died Sunday, May 24, 2015 at Brookdale Marysville. She retired in 1990 from Adria Labs in Dublin where she was an executive secretary for eleven years. She was also a former associate of the O.M. Scott Company. She was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church of Marysville where she served as deacon and was a member of Presbyterian Women. She grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and graduated from North High School in Omaha. An accomplished bowler, she was a women’s league bowler for many years at Marysville Lanes and was longtime secretary for the county bowling association. She held the highest series score of 745 for many years. She enjoyed playing bridge and poker, loved to travel and appreciated music. She and her husband attended scores of concerts throughout their 60-year marriage. Above all, she was a dedicated wife and mother and passionate grandmother. She was born December 23, 1932 in Maryville, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her father, Melvin H. Ward and her mother, Pearl Orlick Ward Brown. She was also preceded in death by her step-father, Carroll Brown. She is survived by her husband, Charles H. “Chuck” Anderson, whom she married December 23, 1954 in Lincoln, Nebraska; two sons, Bill (Sherri) Anderson of Galena and David (Bethany) Anderson of Marysville; six grandchildren, Halie (Eric) Best, Natalie Anderson, Ben Anderson, Philip Anderson and his fiancée, Kinsey Burkhard, Audrey Sagraves and Sidney Sagraves; four sisters, Carole (Ned) Plowman of Portland, OR, Virginia (Paul) Lindahl of Wichita, KS, Pat (Arden) Hildebrand of Medford, OR and Janet (Jerry) Moore of Salem, OR; a sister-in-law, Linda (Jim) Monroe of Plano, TX; and many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Underwood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church of Marysville where the family will also receive friends one hour prior to the service. Rev. Dr. Scott L. Strohm will officiate. Following a luncheon at the church, interment will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Oakdale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Marysville or Central Ohio Chapter of American Cancer Society.
