Doris A Scheiderer

Doris Amelia Flora Kleiber Scheiderer, 83, of Marysville and a lifelong resident of Union County, died Thursday, May 10, 2012 at The Gables at Green Pastures. A homemaker, she and her husband owned and operated Short Stop convenience marts at Fifth and Maple and North Main Street in Marysville and also in Springfield for over 30 years. She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church where she was baptized on March 31, 1929 and confirmed on March 29, 1942. She was involved in the Married Couples Club and the church and with her husband, delivered “Portals of Prayer” devotional guides to members. She was a volunteer for mobile meals at Memorial Hospital of Union County since 2003 and accrued 1867 hours. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, handicrafts and flower gardening. She was born March 24, 1929 on Kleiber Road in Union County to the late John George and Frieda Nicol Kleiber. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Fred and Herbert Kleiber; a sister, Lucille Kleiber Rogers; and a brother-in-law, Dwight Rogers. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Dana Albert Scheiderer, whom she married May 29, 1949 at St. John’s Lutheran Church; two daughters, Gwen (Daryl) Sollars, Mechanicsburg and MaryJo (James) Davis of Marysville; two granddaughters, Lisa (Michael) Siders and Holly (Brandon) Bair; two step grandsons, Aaron (Ellen) Sollars and Nick Sollars; three great grandchildren, Chase, Bailey and Chance; a brother, Donald (Loretta) Kleiber of Milford Center; a sister, Leila (Charles) Davisson of Milford Center; four sisters-in-law, Anna Barbara Kleiber, Alfreda Kleiber and Bernice Baker, all of Marysville and Carol Scheiderer of Minnesota; a brother-in-law, Todd Wolford of Marysville; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 and 5 to 8 p.m. at Underwood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Marysville. Rev. John W. Fair and Rev. Larry Kudart will officiate and burial will be at the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chase Siders, John Davisson, Dale Davisson, Kenneth Kleiber, Bob Kleiber, Mike Kleiber and Wayne Kleiber. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Davis and Daryl Sollars.
