Dear Betty and Family, may you always smile when you reminisce about Sarge. I recall that when I worked with Betty at Milcrest, Don was very supportive of her and her dedication to her profession yet eager to have her retire to spend time with him. Sweet! God bless you all during this time. - Susan and Gary Strutner

Our deepest condolences to your family. Sarge worked with Paris and they golfed together till Paris's Alzheimer's disease got the best of him. God bless Sarge for going golfing with Paris, even when Paris was doing so poorly. Sarge never gave up on him and called him often. The last 4 years Paris hasn't remembered most folks, so when I told him Sarge passed away I was surprised when he said he remembered him. I know God has a special place for Sarge. Much love to our friend.

My thoughts go out to your family in this extremely hard time I met sarge when I was 14 working at subway he would come in early in the morning to hang out. He was a great man, always so nice and happy when ever i saw him in town I made sure to talk to him. He would talk and joke with me and my girls ..! He will be greatly missed.

Never have I ever gotten the best advice from anyone else in my life, especially finishing my high school years. My grandfather was always there to help guide me through my next chapter in life. No matter what situation I was in he would be there to help me be open-mindedo in every situation. My grandfather is one of my role models in life. Always respectful, kind-hearted, and a risk-taker. He always brought the family closer every holiday/event we had together. I’ll always remember when I was just a kid and locking him out of the house while laughing at him trying to get back in. Or the time when I ripped one of the branches oof the trees he was growing... I’m gonna miss my grandfather. He will forever be in my heart. I love you, grandpa. I’m going to keep your positivity you had and share it on to others and too always remember the good times. Thank you for the advice you have given me. I plan on using each and every advice moving forward. Thank you for everything you gave to this family. We’re all happy of you and your accomplishments. Thank you for being a symbol for this family. Rest easy.

My boys had such a wonderful loving grandfather that they loved as well as I did. He was kind to all, knew no stranger, and always made you laugh when he told a story. He is definitely a treasured jewel. He will be deeply missed by his grandsons [Zayne, Cayde & Treye] & myself. My deepest sympathy to Betty & family.
