Donald Albert “Sarge” Wheeler, age 85, of Marysville, died Thursday, May 9, 2019 at The Ohio State University Medical Center Rhodes Hall. He was an associate of Rockwell International in Newark and Marysville for 17 years. Sarge served in the United States Army for 21 years with one tour in Germany, three in Korea, two in Vietnam and one in Hawaii. He was discharged in 1970 as Master Sergeant. He loved golfing and made numerous trips to Myrtle Beach with his wife, Betty, and many friends. He was a member of VFW Post 3320, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1651 and the Masonic Lodge. He was born September 13, 1933 in Fultonham, Ohio to the late Dorus and Nellie Saxton Wheeler. He was also preceded in death by many siblings. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty Lou Dickey Wheeler, whom he married July 2, 1963 in Lawton, Oklahoma; his children, Laquata (Robert) Jones of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Donald (Liz) Wheeler of Springfield and Heath (Traci) Wheeler of Marysville; his grandchildren, Melissa Stokes, Tabitha Farley, Shelly Gregory, Wesley Jones, Leeza Wheeler, Zayne Wheeler, Cayde Wheeler and Treye Wheeler; many great-grandchildren; two brothers, David Wheeler and James Wheeler; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends 3 to 6 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2019 at Underwood Funeral Home where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Rev. Donald C.
