Dawn Allen Terzis, age 75, of Marysville, died peacefully Saturday, May 30, 2020 at Walnut Crossing surrounded by her loving husband, daughter and son. She was born May 27, 1945 in Buffalo, New York to the late Ross Emery and Miriam W. Billington Allen. She was also preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and James Bartoo. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Anthony J. Terzis, whom she married March 31, 1973 in South Wales, New York; her daughter, Melissa (Brad) Himes of Hilliard; her son, Christopher (Ashley) Terzis of Marysville; her grandsons, Ethan and Roman Himes and Landon and Lincoln Terzis; her sisters-in-law, Vicki (John) Jencik of Tennessee and Billie Hayes of Cuyahoga Falls; five nieces, Kathy, Lisa, Becky, Lynn and Gillian; and a nephew, Steven; and many others relatives. A graduate of East Aurora High School in East Aurora, New York, she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Kent State University in 1967 where she continued her graduate education, studying her favorite amphibian, the salamander. In 1970, she moved to Plain City and began working for O.M. Scott and Sons as a Research Associate before starting a family. Later, she became a kindergarten aide at Edgewood Elementary School for several years, eventually taking a job in the administration office at Marysville Schools. Kindergarten registration was always her favorite event. Dawn was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed training pilot dogs. A nature photographer, she also cherished the outdoors and loved traveling, hiking, fishing and exploring animal habitats. A proud grandmother, her four grandsons provided endless hours of joy. A memorial gathering will be held 12 noon Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at Underwood Funeral Home. Social distancing will be practiced. Rev. Barry Scott will officiate.
