Dale Bell

Dale DeWitt Bell, age 89, of Marysville, died Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Memorial Gables in Marysville. He was a 30-year associate of Eljer Plumbingware in Marysville. Following retirement, he worked for Hilliard City Schools as a custodian. A veteran of the United States Navy, he served during the Korean War on the USS Sperry. He was a former member of First Presbyterian Church of Marysville where he served as deacon. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and woodworking. A 1947 graduate of Marysville High School, he was a star quarterback and a member of the basketball team.  He also played football at Miami University. Above all he was a handyman, helpful friend and neighbor, and loved his family dearly. He was born September 7, 1929 in Delaware to the late Curtis and Bertha DeWitt Bell. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lynda Peters Bell and his infant brother, Kenneth. He is survived by his daughter, Cherie Bell and his son, Steve (Glenna) Bell, both of Marysville; his grandchildren, Matthew (Darik) Bell of Dublin, Tiffany (Chris) Sobas of Arizona and Michael (Kayla) Bell of Powell; his great-grandchildren, Elijah and Kaylee Sobas and Saylor Bell; his sister, Leona Bell Holycross of Marysville; his niece, Lee Holycross of Marysville; and his former wife, Jean Bell of Marysville. At Dale’s request, there will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made in Dale’s memory to Mobile Meals Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.underwoodfuneralhome.com.
