February 10, 2016
Curtis “Curt” Edwin Borror, age 85, of Marysville, died peacefully Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at his home. Curt was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend and a decorated veteran. As a young man, Curt served as a Sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, supporting light artillery. He repaired many vehicles in Union County, serving as a mechanic at H.I. Huffman in Marysville for almost 40 years. Before drones were all the rage, Curt was an avid radio-controlled airplane hobbyist and was a member of the Mid-Ohio Radio Kontrol Society (M.O.R.K.S). He had a love for aircraft and was an expert on the famous Supermarine “Spitfire” fighter planes flown during the Second World War. He was also somewhat of a “night owl” and inventor, most recently passionate about a mosquito trap design that would spare the dwindling honey bee population. In his retirement, he took great pride in his grandchildren — Curtis, Steven, Andrew and Kaylynn — and loved to dote on his dogs, Boots and Missy. He was born July 17, 1930 in Lewis Center, Ohio to the late Ralph and Marie Hoover Borror and was also preceded in death by six brothers, five sisters and his good friend and flying buddy, Joe Moseley. He is survived by his care-giver and wife of 54 years, Doris Crabbe Borror, whom he married on Feb. 11, 1962 at Marysville Church of the Nazarene at the corner of Sixth and Maple Streets; his son David (Nancy) Borror of Raymond; his daughter, Victoria (Joe) Case of Marysville; four grandchildren, Curtis, Steven and Andrew Case and Kaylynn Borror; three sisters-in-law, Mary Louise Greene, Sara Jane (Robert) Hatcher and Barbara Graham; and many nieces and nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Underwood Funeral Home where the family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be held at a later date at Mt. Herman Cemetery in Dover Township. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory at OhioHealth Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.underwood16.wpengine.com.
