Cindy Rausch Walker

Cynthia “Cindy” Marilyn Rausch Walker, age 70, of Marysville, died peacefully Thursday, January 7, 2021 at the home of her son.  She was a kindergarten teacher at St. John’s Lutheran School for over 30 years. A member of Living Hope Church in Marysville, she was baptized and confirmed her faith at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Cindy was active at Living Hope where she was involved with devotional groups, Bible studies and the “food train” meal support program. She was a 1968 graduate of Fairbanks High School and received a bachelor’s degree from Concordia Lutheran College. She volunteered at The Bluebird Retirement Community where she was able to offer continued support to her mother. An avid reader, she was a fantastic cook, enjoyed traveling with friends and liked scrapbooking.  Cindy was an enthusiastic fan of her son in his athletic endeavors at Fairbanks and Ohio University. She will be lovingly remembered for touching the lives of many youngsters. She was a strong support to all her family members and cherished spending time with them. Above all, she loved serving others. She was born March 23, 1950 in Columbus and was preceded in death by her father, LeRoy F. Rausch. She is survived by her son, William “Willie” (Susan) Walker of Marysville; her mother, Mae Streng Rausch of Marysville; two sisters, Connie (Ron) Carfrey and Nancy (Kevin) Mabry, both of Marysville; her former husband, Steve Walker; her nieces, Carrie (Derrick) Hurst, Kristin (Joey) Huber, Lindsey (Ben) Patrick, Katie (Jeff) Vogrin and Chelsey (Austin) Hill; her aunt and Godmother, Marilyn Greenbaum; and many other relatives. The family will receive friends 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, January 11, 2021 at Living Hope Church, 16701 Square Drive, Marysville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran School.  Underwood Funeral Home is assisting the family.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at
