Lucinda Jane “Cindy” Hammond, age 56, of Marysville, passed away unexpectedly on December 25, 2020. A 1982 graduate of Marysville High School, Cindy served as a clerk at West Central Community Correctional Facility and was former deputy clerk for the Union County Clerk of Courts for 25 years.  Cindy was a talented seamstress and loved making meals for others. Those who knew her enjoyed eating anything she cooked or baked. A lover of animals, nature, catching critters, reading, and crime shows, Cindy had a heart for giving and volunteered time at The Hope Center. She will be mostly remembered as a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and aunt. She was born January 3, 1964 in Stuttgart, Germany to William B. and Susie J. Eastman Bumgarner who both survive in Marysville.  She is also survived by her husband of 33 years, John R. Hammond, whom she married December 19, 1987; her son William “Mitch” (Elizabeth) Hammond of Marysville; her grandson, Henry Hammond; her sister, Barbara Johnson of Marysville; her mother-in-law, Jean Hammond of Columbus; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, in-laws and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, John “Jack” Hammond. The family will receive friends 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Underwood Funeral Home  COVID precautions will be required.
