Charles James McLurg, age 61, of Marysville, passed away peacefully at The Ohio State University Medical Center on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 after a sudden illness. He was a 1977 graduate of Marysville High School and received a degree from Columbus Technical Institute in 1982. A Marysville resident for many years, Charlie spent most of his life working in the auto industry and he also worked in the financial sector. Charlie was fun-loving and adventurous. He enjoyed outdoor sports such as motorcycle riding, football, cycling, target shooting, and baseball. He was a voracious reader, especially of history and business. Above all, Charlie was a devoted friend, father, son, and brother. He will be sorely missed by all. Born July 16, 1959 in Columbus, he was preceded in death in by his father in 2018, James McLurg; and a cousin, Byron Horn. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Megan McLurg (Dr. Robert Siska) of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; his mother, Nancy Horn McLurg of Marysville; his brother, John (Margaret) McLurg of Dublin; his sisters, Phyllis (Timothy) Heskett of Logan, Ohio and Sharon (Timothy) Ward of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; his nieces and nephews, Jessica (Anthony) Fisher, Captain Josiah (Julianne) Heskett, Lydiah (Lee) Caterson, Seth Heskett, Samuel Heskett, Isaac Heskett, Isobel (Jeffrey) Konkler, Maggie Ward and McAllister Ward; and many grand-nieces and nephews. A funeral procession will form at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Underwood Funeral Home and proceed to Oakdale Cemetery for a 10:30 a.m. graveside service. Pastor Paul Mills will officiate.
