Cathy Hacker, age 59, of Columbus, passed away Monday, July 13, 2020 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She retired in 2019 from the State of Ohio Medical Board after serving 30 years. A graduate of North High School, she attended ITT in accounting and received a real estate license from Hondros College. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, her grandbabies and was a huge animal lover. She was constantly saving strays and even volunteered at a local low cost spay/neuter clinic. She had a compassionate heart and an abundance of love. She was always willing to help anyone or anything in need. She was born August 14, 1960 in Columbus to the late Ronald and Cecilia Hacker and was also preceded in death by a sister, Christine R. Hacker. She is survived by her daughter, Heather Hacker; a grandson Dylan Hartless; a sister, Susan McCoy; a brother, William Hacker; and her longtime boyfriend, Ray “Kerry” Lambert and his children, Branda (Kenneth) Stuck and their children, Raymond, Michael, Johnathan, Jared and Brandon Stuck, whom she loved as if they were her own. She also had nieces, nephews, cousins and other family, friends and neighbors whom she adored, including the Morgan family and her best friend, Julia Andrews-Eickhoff. A Celebration of Life service has been postponed until further notice due to the pandemic. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family for hospital or final expenses (payable to the Hacker family and mailed to the funeral home) or Pet Solutions, 852 E. Hudson St., Columbus, Ohio 43211. Underwood Funeral Home, 703 East Fifth Street, Marysville, Ohio 43040 is assisting the family. The family would like to thank all of her friends who loved her, especially her gardening, crochet and pet rescue families.
