Carlene Kay Smallwood, age 73, of Milford Center, passed away Friday, September 11, 2020 at her home with her family by her side. A graduate of Cardington Lincoln High School, she was a licensed cosmetologist and she retired from Honda of America after ten years in the weld department. She enjoyed playing Bingo at the VFW with her best friend, JoAnn Kalp. The duo also liked going to Kohl’s and yard sales. Above all, she loved family gatherings for reunions and holidays. She will be remembered for her generous nature and straightforward demeanor… “I may not always like you, but I will always love you.” She will be missed by so many who loved her, especially her canine companion, “Woody.” She was born May 8, 1947 in Marion. She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Berry; her brother, Louie Berry; and her grandma Grace. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Gary A. Smallwood; her children, Trina (Bill Mick) Roof of Texas, Tammy Roof of Minerva, Julia (Cain) Christianson of New Mexico, Czjaka Stevenson of Marysville, Craig (Summer) Smallwood of Broadway and Corey Smallwood of Marysville; her grandchildren, Heather, Natasha, Chase, Chelsea, Ami, Kolby, Kayla, Mariah, Nikki, Breanna, Alyssa, Aleaha; and many great-grandchildren; her mother-in-law, Catherine “Katie” Smallwood of Marysville; a brother-in-law, Jerry (Denise) Smallwood of North Lewisburg; and many other relatives. A memorial service to celebrate Carlene’s life will be held at a later date. Underwood Funeral Home is assisting the family.
