Brenda Lee Barbe Stillion, 43, of Marysville, died Saturday, January 7, 2012 at her home following an extended illness. An extraordinary mother and wife, she continued to touch the lives of many even as she battled cancer the past three years. She was a woman of devoted Christian faith and was deeply dedicated to her career in childcare. Her reputation as a quality child care provider was recognized by many area elementary school teachers. She was a member of Marysville Christian Church and a former member of Morristown Christian Church. She graduated in 1987 as salutatorian of her class at Union Local High School in Morristown. She received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from The Ohio State University. Dedicated to her children’s athletic and school activities, she served as treasurer for the Midwest Gymnastics Boys Boosters, helped with local soccer and Destination Imagination teams. In her youth, she participated in 4-H and was selected as Belmont County fair queen and Barnesville Pumpkin Festival queen. Following a family tradition, she enjoyed entertaining at nursing homes, birthday parties and special events with her magic acts. She was born December 10, 1968 in Barnesville. She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Scott Stillion, whom she married September 28, 1991 in Morristown; five children, Dakota, Connor, Rylee, Brennen and Alayna; her parents Don and Marlene Barbe of Morristown; two sisters, Karen Barbe of St. Clairsville and Tina (Mike) Cox of Blacklick; a brother-in-law, Ryan Stillion of Tennessee; a sister-in-law, Summer Stillion of Old Washington; nieces and nephews, Gabriel, Mikayla, Baylee, Bree, Lincoln, Logan and Leighonna; aunts and uncles, Larry and Sherry Barbe, Terry and Paula Barbe and Donald and Twilla Kemp; and many other relatives and loving friends. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Marysville Christian Church, 17000 Waldo Road, Marysville, where the family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Pastor Ed Beeson will officiate and burial will be at Oakdale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Stillion children’s college fund.
