Betty Lou Brewer Lehman Griffin, age 87, of Marysville, died unexpectedly Sunday, June 24, 2018 at The Ohio State University Ross Heart Hospital. She was born September 1, 1930 in Clifton, Ohio to the late Ernest and Goldie Wolf Brewer, and was a 1948 graduate of Enon High School where she was an outstanding cheerleader. Betty wore a range of hats over her many working years; a real estate agent, she was a retired associate of Swedeland Forge in Jefferson Township, New Jersey. While a resident of South Charleston, Ohio, she owned and operated her own antique and candle making store, “The Golden Bee.” During the 1970’s, Betty lived in Zaire, Africa for two years where she was employed at the United States Embassy. At one time she ran the floral department at a grocery in Twinsburg, Ohio, and subsequently became an avid gardener with her husband, Pete. She was known for her impish smile, her ready laugh, her joy at the diverse and successful lives of her family. She will be remembered for how much she loved each and every one of them. She was a member of the Milford Center United Methodist Church. She was predeceased by her siblings, Lawrence “Bud” Brewer, Alma Sunderland, Donald Brewer, Elmer Brewer and Ercell Ark. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, E. Peter “Pete” Griffin, whom she married February 10, 1990; her children, Catherine Lehman of Cincinnati, Patricia (Thomas Lee) Lehman of Cincinnati and Rick (Rhonda) Lehman of Marysville; her step-children, Gary Griffin of Minneapolis, Jane (David) Vollrath, Gail (Clay) Moore, both of Marysville; her grandchildren, Brit (Mike) Roberts, Christopher (Betsy) Droege, Monica (Dave) Collett, Michaela (Troy) Hibbard, Tyler (Tiffany) Luchka; her step-grandchildren, Amy (James) Edwards, Peter Griffin, Matt (Kristin) Vollrath, Ben (Jacey) Vollrath, Jamie (Matthew) Morley and Abby Moore; great-grandchildren, Maxwell, Sophie, Martin, Ava, Carter, Chloe, Nora, Blakely, Camden, Kyler, Gabe, Selah, Jacob and Aidyn; sisters-in-law, Julie Brewer, Miriam Brewer and Anne Carter; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends, including Richard (Sandy) Lehman of Punta Gorda, Florida. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Underwood Funeral Home where funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
