Betty F. Watkins, age 91, of Woodstock, died Monday, June 23, 2014 at OhioHealth Hospice Kobacker House in Columbus.
A very spiritual person, she attended Marysville Free Will Baptist Church for many years. With a strong faith in God throughout her life, she found her greatest joy in being a loving mother and Nana. She met life’s challenges with a quiet strength and courage and loved that she could remain in her home for sixty-six years.
She was born January 21, 1923 in Portsmouth to the late Hayden and Naomi Slone Hall and was also preceded in death by a brother Ray Hall.
She is survived by her son, Ron (Bonnie) Watkins of Milford Center; her daughter, Joan (Phil) Kegg of Columbus; four grandchildren, Angela Watkins, Tony, Watkins, Craig (Kelly) Kegg and Kyle Kegg; six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Jean Klingensmith; four brothers, Bob (Blanche) Hall, Bill Hall, Buel Hall and George (Irma) Hall; and many nieces and nephews and special friends.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Underwood Funeral Home, 703 East Fifth Street, Marysville. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Marysville Free Will Baptist Church, 280 North Cherry Street, Marysville. Pastor Paul Bogenrife will officiate and interment will be at the Woodstock Cemetery in Woodstock.
Memorial contributions may be made to Marysville Free Will Baptist Church or a feed-the-children organization of choice.
