Beatrice Brown

Beatrice Izora Brown, age 78, of Columbus, died peacefully Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at Arlington Court Skilled Nursing Center. She was a longtime associate of Armco (AK Steel) in Ashland, Kentucky from where she retired in 1999. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and tending to her flowers. She was born August 24, 1941 in Truitt, Kentucky to the late Clarence and Anna Bailey Brown. She was also preceded in death by her former husband, Gifford Howard; her siblings, Lonnie, Carl and Carol; her son-in-law, Randolph Roberts; and her daughter-in-law, Pamela Howard. She is survived by her children, Gifford Edward Howard of Richwood, Patricia Howard of Richwood, Anna Shears of Dublin, Kama Roberts of Marysville and Loretta “Sue” Campbell of Marion; her grandchildren, Howard Ray Dixon, Jr., Ronnie (Ginny) Howard, Johnda (Mike Early) Oost, Michael Hayslip, Ashley Shears, Robert “Robbie” (Danielle) Howard, Cory (Jessica) Holbrook, Vaden “Scotty” (Claire) Roberts and Donald “Donny” Roberts; two step-grandchildren, Sara (Bruce) Vanbrimmer and Curtis Vansickle; many great-grandchildren; her sisters, Betty Ludwig, Shirley (Charles) Woods, Neva (Robert) Ludwig and Lucille (Junior) Stapleton; and her brothers, William Brown, Edgar (Madonna) Brown and Roger (Joyce) Brown; and nieces, nephews and many other relatives. A funeral procession will form 1 p.m. Friday, June 19, 2020 at Underwood Funeral Home and proceed to Oakdale Cemetery for a 1:30 p.m. graveside service.
