Barbara A. (Angel) Wall, age 76, a longtime resident of the Marysville area, died Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 5, 1943 in Wheeling, West Virginia to the late Adam and Carolyn Angel. Barbara received her registered nurse degree from Ohio Valley General Hospital in Wheeling, West Virginia in 1964. She worked at various nursing facilities throughout Marysville including Memorial Hospital, Union Manor and the Ohio Reformatory for Women. She also volunteered as treasurer of Marysville Junior Baseball Association, grief recovery and Bingo for Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, where she was a member. She also provided volunteer medical assistance to the Marysville Junior Football League and Trinity Lutheran School. Barbara was a lifetime caregiver. She gave palliative care to her mother-in-law, Nellie Fail Wall, her beloved mother, Carolyn Angel and nursed her husband, John, through medical issues in addition to her daughter, Cheryl, when she recovered from a broken back. Barbara also “got a kick” out of annual Cinco de Mayo celebrations (her birthday). She mused that Cinco de Mayo was celebrating her special day. She spent numerous years playing cards with friends, traveling and being a devoted team mother for a number of years. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John W. Wall, Sr.; her brothers, Albert Angel and Adam Angel, Jr. and her stillborn twins. She is survived by her children, John (Cheryl) Wall, Jr. and Cheryl (Jack) Frost, both of Marysville and David (Diana) Wall of Flowermound, Texas; her grandchildren, Emily (Josh) Brown of Columbus, Indiana, Ryan (Ally) Wall of Prosper, Texas and Adam Wall, Hannah Wall, Carolyn Frost and Jacob Frost, all of Marysville; five great-grandchildren, Isaac, Leora and Ruth Brown and Will and Lainey Wall; her brother, Edward (Polly) Angel of Fayetteville, North Carolina; and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Underwood Funeral Home with burial to follow at Oakdale Cemetery. Rev. Linda Meredith will officiate. Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2019 and one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, The Hope Center or Union County Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
