Antonette L DeGennaro

Antonette Lentine DeGennaro, 74, of Milford Center, formerly of Hubbard, Ohio, died Friday, December 7, 2012 at the home of her son, Joseph, in Huntsville, Ohio following a sustained illness with cancer. She retired in December 1998 from General Electric in Austintown, Ohio, where she worked for 40 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Marysville and was a former member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Hubbard. She fan of gaming, she enjoyed casinos and playing the lottery. She was a huge Cleveland Browns and Indians fan. Above all, she was an involved grandmother and a deeply devoted mother. She was born October 30, 1938 in Youngstown, Ohio to the late Anthony and Anna Barber Lentine and was also preceded in death by three brothers, Nicholas Marciano, Dominic Lentini and Anthony Lentine; a sister, Theresa DeLisio; and her best friend and former husband of 51 years, Alphonso J. DeGennaro. She is survived by three sons, Joseph (Debra Nelson) DeGennaro of Huntsville, Chief Master Sergeant David (Myong-Sun) DeGennaro, USAF of Sumnter, SC and Lt. Col. Brian (Cathy) DeGennaro, USAF (Reserves), of Lebanon; a daughter, Anna Marie (Tom Boysel) Fornadel of Milford Center; five grandchildren, Kyle, Mason and Madison DeGennaro and Michael and Marissa Fornadel; a brother, Thomas Lentini of Youngstown; and two sisters, Mary Dillon of Hubbard, Ohio and Katherine Scaperotto of Poland, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Marian Lentini of Hubbard, Ohio and Maryann Lentine of Warren, Ohio; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. David A. Poliafico will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the Mass on Wednesday beginning at 10 a.m. at Underwood Funeral Home, 703 East Fifth Street, Marysville, Ohio 43040. A luncheon will follow the funeral mass. Private burial will be held at a later date at the church cemetery.
