Andrew "Andy" Duane Lutz

Andrew “Andy” Duane Lutz, age 62, of Richwood, died unexpectedly Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Marion General Hospital. Despite his failing health complications for many months, Andy kept up his strong spirit and enduring will to be independent. A highly creative and talented artist, he was extremely skilled with airbrushing. Since the age of nine, he painted on many surfaces including autos, t-shirts, carpets and helmets. He was a 1976 graduate of Hickory High School in Hermitage, Pennsylvania where he grew up and played baseball and football. In later years, he coached baseball and football for North Union athletics in Richwood. He was known for his fast-paced athleticism in running. Above all, he was a loving and devoted son, husband, brother, father and grandfather. He was born September 16, 1958 in Canastota, New York.  Andy will be joined in Heaven by his three-month-old son, Brandon Lee Lutz; and a nephew, Aaron Brest.  He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Patricia “Trisha” Carson Lutz, whom he married on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1987 at Daytona Beach, Florida; his parents, Andrew and Billie Jo Tinsley Lutz; his son, Joshua (Shannon) Lutz of Mesa, Arizona; his daughter, Christina Lutz of Richwood; three grandchildren, Joshua Lutz, Jr., Myles Lutz and Owen Gifford; his brother, Michael Lutz; his sister, Diana (Dave) Brest; his mother-in-law, Rose Boular; his nephews and nieces, Sasha, Michael, Natalia and Andrew. and many other relatives and friends.  The family will hold a private gathering.  Underwood Funeral Home is assisting the family.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.underwoodfuneralhome.com.
