DeAnna Lynn Harr Franklin, 48, of Delaware, formerly of Marysville, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Riverside Methodist Hospital with her loving family by her side. A graduate of North Union High School in Richwood, she attended Alpena Community College in Michigan for a psychology degree. After meeting the love of her life, she and her family lived in the Phoenix metropolitan area while her husband, Marvin, served in the United States Air Force. Upon his retirement and the graduation of their daughters in Arizona, she and her family moved back to Ohio. She retired in 2008 after working many years as a mortgage broker. “Dee” was known for her artistic skills and expressed her creativity as a jewelry designer and artisan for several years. She will be most remembered for her inviting spirit, lively humor and compassionate generosity.
She was born August 23, 1966 in Heath, Ohio and was predeceased by her mother, Patricia Hatmaker; her brother, David Hatmaker and her father-and mother-in-law, William and Isabel Franklin. She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Marvin Franklin, whom she married August 7, 1992 in Key West, FL; four daughters, Ebony (Lionel) Tarver of Montgomery, AL, Nicole Long of Marysville, Candice Rider of Lexington, KY and Olivia (Ethan) Batraski of Danville, CA; her step-father, Oscar Hatmaker of Marysville; two sisters, Patricia “Kathy” Rider and Sherry (Clair) Story; two brothers, Mark (Lidian) Hatmaker and Tim (Candyce) Hatmaker; two brothers-in-law, William (Loretta) Franklin and Allen Franklin; a sister-in-law Wendy Hatmaker; five grandsons, Lionell, Romello, Elijah, Ethan and Alexander; nieces and nephews, Shawna, Mike, Hannah, Jordan, Tom, Kyle, Derick, Mitchell, Scott, Rebecca, Karline, Case, Everly, Heidi; and many other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Underwood Funeral Home in Marysville where the family will receive friends beginning at 3 p.m. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.underwood16.wpengine.com.
