Marie Bryant Schilling, age 89, of Marysville, died Friday, August 26, 2016 at Zusman Hospice House at Wexner Village in Bexley. A homemaker, she was a certified nurse’s aide at Union Manor and Milcrest Nursing Home for many years. A former resident of New Dover and Broadway, she enjoyed crocheting. She was a longtime member of the “Happy Happy Hookers,” a volunteer crocheting group which makes afghans for hospitalized children and military troops overseas.

A former Blue Star Mother, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids and cherished taking fishing trips with her late husband, Bob, to their Lake Erie camper. Above all, she was a dearly loved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother.

She was born October 4, 1926 in Pike County, Ohio to the late Manford and Tennie Murry Bryant and was also preceded in death on June 21, 1987 by her husband, Robert Russell Schilling; and three brothers and a sister. She is survived by her children, Jim “Russ” (Mae) Schilling of Marion, Mary Stenger of Raymond, Roger (Roberta) Schilling of Marysville, Ronnie (Linda) Schilling  of Marysville and Betty (Butch) Wood of Raymond; 14 grandchildren, James (Kim) Schilling, Jr., Lori (Kevin) Compton, Greg Schilling, Sherri (Steve) Dickerson, Robert (Dawn) Schilling, Jerry (Teresa) Stenger, Jeff (Christina) Stenger, Joe (Melissa) Stenger, Brett (Jennifer) Schilling, Christina Cost, Kimberly (Tom) Welch, Ronnie (Suzanne) Schilling, Jr., Shawn (Tiffany) Wood and Tiffianie (Joe) Pfarr; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Underwood Funeral Home where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday. Rev. Jack Knox will officiate and burial will be beside her husband at Broadway Cemetery. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Liberty Township EMS.
