Marilyn Watts Williams, 88, of Marysville, died Sunday, July 22, 2012 at The Ohio State University Medical Center. A homemaker, she retired in 1989 from Union County Job and Family Services where she worked as a case worker for 19 years. Although she was proud of her social service, she was especially enthusiastic about her work as an Arthur Murray dance instructor for many years. As a dance teacher for the studio, she was the first Arthur Murray agent to sell a lifetime dance instruction package. She embraced life with a youthful passion and enjoyed singing, acting, dancing and the theatre. She was a member of the Grandparents Living Theatre in Columbus and a longtime member of the Windsor Singers. She was also a member of Community and Seasoned Citizens, a member of Marysville First United Methodist Church and a former member of Plain City United Methodist Church. She loved her animals and especially cherished spending time with her grandchildren. She was born June 25, 1924 in New Boston, Ohio to the late Rev. Leslie C. Watts. She was also predeceased by her husband, C. Robert Williams; three sisters, Janis W. Sundsvold, Loris W. Newsom and Charline Meyer; her brother, Richard G. Watts; a sister-in-law, Betty Watts; and a brother-in-law, John A. Williams. She is survived by her son, Dana M. (Gayle) Williams of Marysville; two step daughters, Lenna M. (Don) Blakely of Westerville and Mary K. Rucker of Columbus; 11 grandchildren, Matthew, Dustin and Chase Williams, Jamie, Joby and Justin Jeffrey, Don, David and Doug Blakely and Steve and Scott Rucker; her sister, Phyllis W. (Robert) Reaney of Las Vegas, NV; a sister-in-law, Ann Williams of California; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends, including her foster son, Mike Eickemeyer of Columbus. The family will receive friends 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Underwood Funeral Home where a memorial service celebrating her life will be held 11 a.m. Friday. Graveside interment of her ashes will take place prior to the memorial service at 10:30 a.m. at Oakdale Cemetery. Rev. Jasper Marcum will officiate.
