A registered nurse, she worked at Riverside Methodist Hospital for 35 years in Med Surg, CCU and in the Invasive Recovery Unit. She was a graduate of West Liberty Salem High School and Riverside School of Nursing. A woman of strong Christian faith, she was a member of Mt. Carmel Friends Church in Cable and the Mt. Carmel Missionary Society. She also enjoyed her social memberships in the CCU White Hat Society and the Red Hat “Posse” Society. She liked antiquing, gardening, sewing, all kinds of music, especially Christian and enjoyed collecting Thomas Kincaid pieces, paintings of churches and other artwork. She was born January 19, 1951 in Urbana, Ohio to the late Berman P. and Martha Jane McCullough Wilkins. She was also predeceased by a sister, Barbara E. Ziegler. She is survived by her husband, Steven B. Wiant, whom she married July 21, 1973; her children, Andy (Anna Marie) Wiant, Tyler (Cat) Wiant and Laura Wiant, all of Marysville; a granddaughter, Aubralyn Elizabeth Wiant; a sister, Kathy (Carl) Partrick of Urbana; three brothers, Jerry Wilkins and Max (Alicia) Wilkins, both of West Liberty and Bill (Shauna) Wilkins of Troy; her father-in-law, Charlie Wiant of Mingo; a brother-in-law, Tim (Cindy) Wiant of Wisconsin; a sister-in-law, Sandy (Dan) Gaver of Mechanicsburg; and many other relatives. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Underwood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Mt. Carmel Friends Church, 3470 Kennard-Kingscreek Road, Cable. Rev. Michael E. Will will officiate and burial will be at the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pregnancy Care Center, Mt. Carmel Friends Church or the Hope Center Coffee Bar. He was an associate Honda of America and was a former employee at Meijer’s in Columbus. He was a veteran of the United States Army and attended Middleburg United Methodist Church. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, NASCAR and playing on-line games with friends. He was known to many of his co-workers as “Papa Bear.” Most of all, he cherished his friendships and his family. He was born May 26, 1961 in Columbus, Ohio and was predeceased by his father, Larry G. Gale; and his grandparents, Homer and Betty Knapp. He is survived by his mother, Rita Ann Knapp Gale Claar and her significant other, John Ford, both of Canal Winchester; his daughter, Tina Marie Gale and  his step-daughter, Regina Thompson and their mother, Pamela; his life partner, Sandra Crokos of Middleburg and her children, Derrick Robbins, Eric Robbins, Jason Crokos and KasSandra Crokos; two grandchildren, Jonathan and Mary; 22 children who considered him grandpa; his siblings, Lorene (Wayne) Maxwell of Middleburg, Lonny Gale of New Lexington, Jay A. He was a veteran of the United States Army and enjoyed auto mechanics. A sportsman, he enjoyed rabbit and deer hunting. He was known as a good neighbor with a helping hand and a kind heart. He was born April 24, 1954 in Delaware, Ohio and was predeceased by his father, Harry Arnold Andrews; his granddaughter, Sarah Madison Taylor; an infant brother, Robert; and his grandmother, Dorothy Coffee. He is survived by his mother, Norma Lee Evans Andrews of Delaware; his children, Rhonda Taylor of Delaware, Eddie (Lea) Andrews, Jr. of Marysville and Teresa (Rick) LeMaster of Marysville; 12 grandchildren; six step grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his siblings, Peggy (Edward) Clark of Delaware, Johnnie (Melissa) Andrews of Delaware and Ronnie Andrews of Delaware; and many other relatives and special friends, including Shawn Meadows, Patrick Grooms and Ruby Walke of Marysville. The family will receive friends during viewing hours from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Underwood Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life memorial service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at VFW Post 3320 on Industrial Parkway in Marysville. A luncheon will follow the service. She retired from Marysville Schools where she worked for 35 years as a sixth grade mathematics teacher. She also served as a Marysville middle school seventh grade girls’ basketball coach. A 1970 graduate of Marysville High School, she was involved in band, the MHS Girl’s Athletic Association and worked at the Marysville Public Library. She received a bachelor’s degree in education from The Ohio State University and a master’s degree in teacher leadership from Wright State University. She was an avid OSU Buckeye football and basketball fan. She enjoyed distance running and playing racquetball at the Union County YMCA. At one point, she was ranked first in the state amongst female racquetball competitors in her age bracket. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Marysville. She loved fashion, making chocolate confections for her family, friends and students and spending time at the pool. She deeply loved her Golden Retrievers, Brandy and Bailey. Above all, she was a conscientious and loving mother and devoted her out-of-school time to her children’s activities. She was born August 15, 1952 at Memorial Hospital of Union County to the late Ross Senff and Lila Strauss Dodd and was also predeceased by her husband, David Alan Esthus on Sept. 10, 2009. She is survived by her children, Benjamin M. Esthus of Grandview, Nicholas D. Esthus of Memphis, TN and Kathryn R. Esthus and her fiancée, Donte Hamilton, both of Austin, TX; her sister, Judith D. (David) Green of Marysville; her niece, Paden (Brett) Green-Tossey of Marysville; her great-nephew, Paul Tossey; her mother-and father-in-law, Don and Shirley Esthus of Farmington, CT; her brothers- and sisters-in-law, Greg (Margie) Esthus of Simsbury, Connecticut, Bradley (Jackie) Esthus of Attleboro, Massachusetts and Beverly (Carl) Allard of Stilwell, Kansas; an aunt, Evon Howard of Mulberry, Florida; and many supportive and loving friends. The family will receive friends 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Underwood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church of Marysville. Rev. Scott L. A homemaker, she and her husband owned and operated Short Stop convenience marts at Fifth and Maple and North Main Street in Marysville and also in Springfield for over 30 years. She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church where she was baptized on March 31, 1929 and confirmed on March 29, 1942. She was involved in the Married Couples Club and the church and with her husband, delivered “Portals of Prayer” devotional guides to members. She was a volunteer for mobile meals at Memorial Hospital of Union County since 2003 and accrued 1867 hours. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, handicrafts and flower gardening. She was born March 24, 1929 on Kleiber Road in Union County to the late John George and Frieda Nicol Kleiber. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Fred and Herbert Kleiber; a sister, Lucille Kleiber Rogers; and a brother-in-law, Dwight Rogers. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Dana Albert Scheiderer, whom she married May 29, 1949 at St. John’s Lutheran Church; two daughters, Gwen (Daryl) Sollars, Mechanicsburg and MaryJo (James) Davis of Marysville; two granddaughters, Lisa (Michael) Siders and Holly (Brandon) Bair; two step grandsons, Aaron (Ellen) Sollars and Nick Sollars; three great grandchildren, Chase, Bailey and Chance; a brother, Donald (Loretta) Kleiber of Milford Center; a sister, Leila (Charles) Davisson of Milford Center; four sisters-in-law, Anna Barbara Kleiber, Alfreda Kleiber and Bernice Baker, all of Marysville and Carol Scheiderer of Minnesota; a brother-in-law, Todd Wolford of Marysville; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. He was generous and cheerful giver with a passion for his family, his church and his community. He retired after almost 44 years as the Facility Manager at Nestles in Marysville. He was well-known for his longtime, wholehearted service and dedication to the Marysville Evening Lions Club. He was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church where he served as a deacon and a teller. He was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Circleville and confirmed his faith on March 25, 1956 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Marysville. A 1959 graduate of Marysville High School, he was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of American Legion Union Post 79. He was a former member of the Boy Scouts of America and formerly served with the Plain City Fire Department. He attended The Ohio State University and was an avid fan of OSU football and girls’ basketball. He liked gardening, hunting, boating and fishing on Lake Erie. Above all, he was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren here in Ohio and in Georgia. He was born December 21, 1941 in Circleville to the late Harold and Kathryn Chalfin Baughman and was also predeceased by three brothers-in-law, Fred Elmore, John Blumenschein and Roger Morley; and a niece, Candice Morley Leidtke. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Jane Blumenschein Baughman, whom he married May 15, 1981 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church; a son, Mike (Debbie) Griffith of Marysville; a daughter, Marlene (Jon) Young of Peachtree City, GA; six grandchildren, Stephen and Michaela Griffith, Ashley and Michael Young, Jimmy (Lisa) and Chris (Amy) Davis and a great-granddaughter, Molly Davis; two sisters, Betty (Mike) Riggilo and Jill Elmore; one sister-in-law, Marjorie Morley; two brothers-in-law, Ewald (Pat) Blumenschein and Pearl (Susan) Blumenschein; nieces, Angie (Dan) Bolenbaugh, Holly Elmore, Brandi Riggilo, Christi (Noland) Geihart, Cathy (Rick) Monroe, Cindy Shanklin, Linda (Greg) Etter, Trisha McMunn, Nikki (Michael) McCleary; nephews, David (Janie), Dan (Melanie), Tony (Tracy), Tim (Laura) Blumenschein; one aunt, Lorna Barone; and many great nieces and nephews, many cousins and many friends. A licensed practical nurse, she was a graduate of Minford High School in Minford, Ohio and Chicago School of Nursing in Illinois. A private duty nurse, she was also a former nursing associate of Conyers Nursing and Care Center and the Surgery and Medical Clinic in Milan, Indiana. She moved to Marysville in the mid-1960’s and worked as a private duty nurse and as a sales associate at Weiss Brothers Department Store. She was a life member of Blue Star Mothers Chapter No. 41, VFW Auxiliary Post 3268 in Plain City, Disabled American Veterans Chapter No. 55, Purple Heart Chapter No. 500 and American Legion Union Post 79 Auxiliary. She attended New California Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed cooking and baking, especially cake decorating. She also liked hand-sewing quilts, needlework and tending to her garden. She especially loved to support her children and grandchildren at their sporting events and volunteering at the VA Hospital in Chillicothe. She was born August 2, 1923 in Minford, Ohio to the late Monroe and Flossie Ann Dutton Fannin and was also predeceased by her husbands, Gilbert M. Sheldon and Eugene D. Godfrey; her siblings, Teddy Fannin, Ulia Fannin, Inas Rick, Ethel Burdett, Clifton Bitzer and Arthur Fannin; and a granddaughter, Molly Hall. She is survived by three daughters, Elva (David) Hall of Asheville, NC, Mary (Don Guard) Brandel of Columbus and Marcia (John) Foulkes of Annapolis, MD; two sons, Scott Sheldon of Plain City and Michael (Kimm) Godfrey of Marysville; ten grandchildren, Julie (John) Iafolla, Lori Nelson, Andy (Wendy) Avery, Doug Avery, Bobby (Sonia) Avery, Angela (Norman) Currie, Chris (Maria) Sheldon, Karla (Cody) Anthony and Ki and Kane Godfrey; great grandchildren, Marissa, Jesse, Joel, Kelly, Aaron, Andy Lee, Amanda, Mike, Brittany, Courtney, Sydney, Jordan, Hunter, Arabella, Scott and Amanda; two great great granddaughters, Ashton and Avery; a sister, Bertha (Garrett Lee) Sanns of Marblehead; a brother, Chester Fannin of San Diego; a sister-in-law, Violet Fannin of Minford; and many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Underwood Funeral Home where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday. Rev. Phil Bougher will officiate and burial will be at Oakdale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Hospital of Union County Heart and Surgery Pavilion. He retired from Rockwell International/Boeing as a lineman after working 33 years. He was also a former associate of Denison Hydraulics in Marysville. He and his family also once owned and operated Susie’s Pizza Shop in Woodstock. He was a member of Mechanicsburg Baptist Church. He loved to dance, watch wrestling and enjoyed hearty food and eating. Above all, he cherished being with his family. He was born September 28, 1937 in Mechanicsburg to the late Clifford C. and Alberta Shurte Knox, and was also predeceased in 1997, by his wife, Sharon Sue Knox; in 1998, by his son, Russell “Rusty” Eugene Knox, Jr.; his siblings, Annabelle Stokes, Rose Fox, Mildred Knox, Wanda Arthur, Marilyn Moore, Tom Knox, Billy Knox, Calvin Knox, Jimmy Knox, Donald Knox, Johnny Knox and Ronnie Knox. He was predeceased by other relatives, including a close nephew, Mike Boyer. He is survived by his loving companion, Coney “Jamie” Rude of Springfield and her two children, Brittany and Jerry Rude; three children, Judy (Louie) Gall of North Lewisburg and John Knox and Joni (Bob) DeLay, both Meridian, Mississippi; eight grandchildren, Kayla Jo Knox, Aaron Gall, Jodi Knox, Johnny Knox, Josh Knox, Jenny Knox, Mandy Purdue and Emily DeLay; 12 great grandchildren; three sisters, Linda Legge of Marysville, Marlea Tatman of Woodstock and Lea (Steve) Boyer of North Lewisburg; two sisters-in-law, Goldie Knox of Richwood, Mozelle “Babe” Sands of Richwood; a brother-in-law, Mike Fox of Florida; his aunt, “Coe” Collins; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Underwood Funeral Home in Marysville. Graveside services will be held 12 noon Thursday at Guy Cemetery in Rosedale. Rev. During her younger years, she was a retail sales clerk for Murphy Stores in Gallipolis. A member of Hawthorne United Methodist Church in Charlotte, she was a 48-year member of Order of Eastern Star. She has been a resident of Marysville for the past 13 years where she moved to be closer to her family. She enjoyed traveling, sewing and gardening. She was born November 29, 1910 in Gallipolis to the late Oscar Frank and Ada Mossman Wade and was also predeceased by two brothers, Albert Wade and Milo Wade; a sister, Dora Wade; and a niece, Anne Hill. She is survived by three nephews, Brian (Sharon) Wade of Marysville, Francis (Nancy) Wade of Delaware and Bill (Ruth) Wade of Delaware; a niece, Carol Riemenschneider of Westerville; great nephews and nieces, Kevin (Becky) Wade, Clark (Jill) Wade, Barry (Beth) Wade, Michelle (Sam) Noyes, Pam (Jim) Ward, Patti Freeh, Mark Hill, Thomas Hill, Michael (Libby) Hill, Jeff (Sandy) Wade, Ted (Linn) Wade, Scott (Bethany) Riemenschneider, Todd (Lindsey) Riemenschneider and Erin (Travis) Woodworth; and many great great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday at Underwood Funeral Home, 703 East Fifth Street, Marysville, Ohio, where the family will receive friends beginning at 5 p.m. Rev. Carrie Given will officiate. Private interment will be held at Mound Hill Cemetery in Gallipolis. As a 1971 graduate of North Union High School, he was a member of Buckeye Boys’ State. He enjoyed golfing, riding his motorcycle and was a big Ohio State Buckeyes fan. He was born July 10, 1953 in Delaware and was predeceased September 4,2002 by his father, Robert E. Hines; his grandparents, Glenn and Carrie Hines and Ralph and Pauline Wood; and aunts and uncles, Clara Mae and Glee Baker, Helen and Elden Goldsmith, Glenn Hines, Jr. and Kenneth Wood. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Finley Hines, whom he married March 20, 1999 in Marysville; his children, Christopher Taylor and Ashley Taylor Conran; four grandchildren, Christopher, Cameron, Ella and Peyton; his mother, Helen Wood Hines of Somersville; a brother, Roger Hines of Indian Lake; a sister, Linda (John) Miller of Richwood; a niece, Lori (Jim) Durst of Marysville; two nephews, Kirby and Cody Hines, both of Bellefontaine; his father-in-law, James (Roseanna) Finley of Georgia; his brothers-and sisters-in-law, Susan (Gene) Wells of Missouri, James (Angie) Finley of Reynoldsburg and Bill Finley of Kentucky; his aunts and uncles, Wanda Foreman of Mt.Victory, Richard (Janet) Wood of Marion, Donna (Jack) Engle of Broadway, Nancy Wood of Delaware and Twila Hines of Richwood; and many cousins and other relatives.
